Upgrading Hardware
Am I goign to notice a better performance running a RAID 0 over a RAID 1? I'm pretyt much just trying to make this thing as fast as possible to beef up for Vista. I upgraded from XP Pro to Vista Ultimate 64 bit, placing VU64 on a new Raptor Raid0 array. It wasn't easy. Most of everything I now try to install fails, in conflict to 64 bit, not to VU. Example. Purchased MS Windows Live OneCare to insure compatibility of anti-virus application with new Vista.

I removed two Barracuda 7200.7 120gig hard drives in a raid 0 (striped) configuration from my old XP system and just plugged them into a new vista home (maybe premium not sure) AMD 64 core duo system - and vista only recognizes the two separate drives as unformatted drives and offers to format them for me.

I even tried reinstalling Vista through the upgrade process, This is a new computer with Core 2 Duo, 2Gb 1066 ram, 640GB RAID0 system drive and 640GB RAID10 data drive. I finally downloaded Firefox to regain internet access, but I have a couple of programs that are useless because I can't use IE to activate them.
