Raid problem
I created an Acronis TrueImage disk image as a backup in case my RAID0 disk array crashed and then proceeded with the update as per Intel's instructions above. Vista was already installed on the machine I bought which came with only one 160 GB SATA drive. What if I later on want to add a second SATA HD? Can I then make it do a RAID 0 with the existing HD? Does it have to be exactly the same size? Same brand? Same model? Raid 0 is not mirroring. RAID 1 is mirroring.

Scratch disc, VISTA & RAID0
Very, very few drives can exceed 125MB/s on reads or writes standalone without RAID, even 2-drive RAID0 configs frequently don't. So they must be unusable too, by your definition. Nice try, you figured you'd get your pocket protector out and go all techie and scare folks off, but it didn't work though.

We're not talking a Data Center, we're not talking a 15 disk array, we're talking Vista and home users or SOHO users. Face it, you're wrong. Face it you misunderstood what I said. poor disk performance with vista and dell xps gen 4 raid 0
The Windows experience index shows 2.5 because of the primary drive (disk data transfer rate). My pc now is EXTREMELY slow. It seems to be the disk drives which I've never had a problem with. Does anyone have a suggestion or idea as to why the performance may be so bad? Is there an issue with Vista and Raid 0?
